We do not offer the Wedge portion of our Sleep Systems as a stand-alone product for purchase. We have found that the MedCline Wedge alone is not as effective or as comfortable without the Body Pillow.
The MedCline Therapeutic Body Pillow is a crucial component of each MedCline Relief System. The full-length Body Pillow enables a comfortable side sleeping position, while preventing you from rolling to your back. The Body Pillow should be pulled between your knees or thighs to dissipate any pressure from your lower back from the side sleeping position. The long limb can be used either in front of your body or behind your body, depending on your preference. The MedCline Therapeutic Body Pillow is filled with shredded memory foam so it can be adjusted to accommodate your head and neck. You can simply push/pull the stuffing to where you need more or less support.
Yes, MedCline products are designed so that you can sleep on your left or right side as the arm pocket at the top of the incline base is symmetrical.
MedCline products are constructed with multiple types of polyurethane foam that are 100% latex-free and 100% hypo-allergenic. All materials used are validated by a 3rd party as CertiPUR-US®, which ensures that the materials are free from flame retardants, heavy metal, and other harmful chemicals (more information about CertiPUR-US® can be found at www.certipur.us ).
The wedge portion of each Sleep System contains a dense core, high-resilience foam for support and durability, as well as conventional foam for additional perimeter support. There is also a comfort layer of gel-infused, cooling memory foam on the top. The smaller Insert Pillow, as well as the Therapeutic Body Pillow, are filled with shredded memory foam.
Like a brand-new memory foam mattress, you may notice an odor to our products upon receipt, which are compressed for shipping. Don’t worry, the odor is normal and completely harmless. It should dissipate within a few days, but for those who are more sensitive to smells it may take longer. To hurry this process along, we recommend removing the cases, washing them, and airing out the foam itself (outside and in the shade, if possible). Vigorously fluffing and shaking the body and insert pillows can help as well. The pre-installed pillowcases are an 80/20 cotton/poly blend, commonly referred to as velour.
MedCline products are manufactured in several facilities across the United States, Mexico, and China. All facilities worldwide are FDA-approved, ensuring our manufacturing process follows all FDA medical device regulations. Further, our process maintains CertiPUR-US® regulations, which ensures that the materials are free from flame retardants, heavy metal, and other harmful chemicals (more information about CertiPUR-US® can be found at www.certipur.us ). We fulfill all US orders in our US distribution facilities, which are also FDA-approved, in California, Tennessee, and Michigan, ensuring fast delivery across the United States.
MedCline products take up ½ of a queen size bed. The 30” width is necessary for stability, to accommodate the body pillow, and to allow you to easily turn over during the night.
Our MedCline Shoulder Relief System was designed specifically for those with shoulder pain at night. While similar to the MedCline Reflux Relief System, including the patented arm pocket, the Shoulder Relief System has a lower overall degree of elevation as compared to the Reflux Relief System. The Shoulder Relief System props you up just high enough to take the pressure off your downside arm and shoulder without the angle needed for reflux relief. If you have GERD and shoulder pain, we highly recommend our Reflux Relief System as it should relieve both issues for you. If you have any questions about what solution will be best for you, feel free to give us a call at 800-610-1607.
MedCline is not recommended for lower back or hip injuries. All MedCline Relief Systems create an inclined, side-sleeping position so those with herniated disks, compounded disks, bulging disks, fused vertebrae, scoliosis, or lumbar damage, arthritic hips, bursitis in the hips, or hip injuries often find it difficult to tolerate the angle that MedCline creates.
We do not recommend purchasing MedCline to treat a hip injury. For either MedCline Relief System to be effective, they create a side-sleeping position. If you are unable to sleep on your side due to a hip injury or arthritis/bursitis, MedCline will most likely not be comfortable for you.
Side sleeping is often recommended to help decrease snoring and assist with positional sleep apnea. The patented arm pocket of the MedCline Relief System allows you to sleep comfortably on your side by removing pressure from your downside arm and shoulder and the Therapeutic Body Pillow provides side-sleeping support so that you are unable to roll to your back.
We have heard from several customers who successfully use MedCline in conjunction with CPAP therapy. Since the stuffing of the Body Pillow is adjustable, you can create a "nest" for your mask by moving the stuffing around. Instead of putting tennis balls on your pajama shirt, try MedCline!
